This blog was started so that we could share our favourite inspirational design photos with you,
and we would like to give you the opportunity to share yours with us as well.
This is what we need you to do. We welcome links to great design sites or photos, but links are
preferred so our inboxes don't fill up. If sending photos, please clearly state the name of your
source whether magazine (and date if you have it), book (include author’s name and publisher) or website.
Also please include your name so we can give you the credit, and a link to your site if you have one.
The more information we have the more valuable this resource will become. There that was easy wasn’t it?
Please remember that we cannot post if your photo is not adequately sourced. Now let’s have fun!

One of my favourite things is bus or tram destination rolls. Love the black and white typeface. Imagine my surprise when I opened the autumn/winter decorating and renovating guide from Inside Out. There was one of MY vintage Sydney bus rolls. I produced a series of these a couple of years back and sold them through Shop 73 in James St. All gone, no more except a set in my living room and a few metres I'm saving for a special day. Makes me want to start on the Brisbane bus rolls I have squirrelled away.
Or should that be mirror mirror you are the wall. Never ending reflections of you. Beautiful, expensive and a devil to clean these are certainly one of a kind rooms. Love them but would I spend all my time staring aimlessly at myself and myself and myself……
Boform is a company out of Denmark that manufactures beautiful modern cabinets for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms etc. Check out their website for more photos if you're a modernist.
Mogul is one of LA's hottest lifestyle stores. The lovechild of Tom Piscitello and Neal Wagner Mogul is a blend of new stylish contemporary furniture and vintage mid-century furnishings, accessories and Wagner’s original abstract artwork. Wagner and Piscitello create high-end residential and commercial interior designs. Glam, bad and so hip. Oouch!
This post is for Eric of the notorious Gold Digger. Eric, a great friend of this blog from the beginning has just graduated from college. Congratulations honey! This is our graduation present to you. Not only does this website reflect your super cool biting style but it's a portent for your future - the mogul life.
One of the founders of Hollywood Regency style William Haines redefined the way the stars lived in the 30s. After a career as an actor Haines turned to interior design. Clients were friends such as Joan Crawford, Gloria Swanson, Carole Lombard and Marion Davies. Haines' Hollywood glamour continues today with Lindley Associates who faithfully reproduce his elegant classic furniture.
Rabih Hage is an architect and interior designer who specialises in contemporary design, furniture and art. This is another designer that uses art to create wonderful focal points. Check out the stellar art, collectibles and furniture on this website.
Want to feel like a kid again? Get yourself a hanging chair. For your living room, balcony or backyard, whether in rattan or fiberglass, they are fun and look fabulous. I crave one, especially after finding all these photos.
Wes asked if readers could send in pictures of their own homes. The answer is a definite yes. We love seeing our readers' homes and we know you do too. This blog is all about sharing. Send us your pictures or send us a link to your flickr site or blog and we'll take it from there. Can't wait to see your place!

Jenny Armit, based out of London, is one of Europe's top residential and commercial interior designers. She was selected by House and Garden Magazine as one of the top one hundred people of influence for their 50th Anniversary Edition. I love her eclectic mix of styles and use of cultural elements.
This is the work of London architects and designers Eldridge Smerin. The first is a 3 storey extension to a Victorian building with narrow planes of glass allowing light and views. Look closely at the staircase - individually laminated sheets of timber gently curving to form the stair. And the last images reveal their mastery of the juxtaposition of mass and void, nature and modernism. Breathtaking spaces.
"At the very heart of Laura Day Design is this premise: Every space, commercial or residential, can be transformed to fulfil its functionality and express the client's sense of beauty and personality." I couldn't say it better than the website.
I think everyone could use some drama in their decor, even if it's just one glamourous mirror or an ornate brightly painted side table. I found this website of Italian company Creazioni that sells everything from tables, beds, and bookcases to mirrors, artwork and lamps. And it's all over-the-top, theatrical, glamourous, whimsical and evokes an OMG with each design. "Revitalising the styles of the past, relaunching them in a new light that brings out the best facets of their various precious qualities, but at the same time undermining their authority from within by camouflaging them, as it were, with lively colours, unusual materials and unprecedented finishes: that is the stylistic signature, never short of a surprise or a coup de theatre of this brand..."
As the weather warms up for most of you it’s time to take another look at using outdoor spaces. Where I live in sunny subtropical Queensland we use our outdoor rooms all year round. Even in the southern parts of Australia there is only a brief period of the year where we don’t live outside. The fresh air beckons. And if you don’t have a permanent space to dine, laze and while away the day then a rug some pillows a garden set or hammock can extend your living space.
Love it, love it. An eclectic boho mix of traditional, tattered, mid century and modern. Just enough quirkiness and a touch of the artist's eye. This is just one of the properties offered for location shoots by the Beach Studios. Can't fault it ....maybe just a little bit more mid century modern.
