Emily's time to share
Kim and I met Emily on the Rooms I *heart* flickr group and loved what she shared. Check out her Flickr page emikw. She has a number of beautiful images we couldn't use because they were from her inspiration book and unsourced. Take a browse through them. But more importantly Emily is an exceptionally talented artisan jeweller. You can fall in love with her work at Emily Watson: metal jewelry and objects.
Just a quick glimpse of Emily's jewellery.

Had to post this
My sister just sent me this photo she found. I adore chairs and I adore dogs so here is a dog on a chair.

HOW CUTE IS THAT????
I love pink
I adore the colour pink. I think it's so pretty and fresh and fun. I was so happy when my sister gave birth to a girl in July so I could buy my niece all sorts of pink clothes. When I was trying to decide what accent colour to use in my bedroom, I kept going back to pink. I decided to go for it and I LOVE it! So here are some bedrooms that predominantly use pink to inspire you all to think about trying pink in your own spaces.

More living with art
Another post on living with art. This time it's an eclectic mix and a little bit of sculpture thrown in as well. I have a passion for Papua New Guinea tribal carvings so I love the fifth picture (but perhaps a little too much artist's clutter). The frames are there because they can be art in themselves. And every little girl should have a fuschia pink bedroom and contempory artworks!

Chambres en Ville
These dreamy rooms are what awaits you at a small bed and breakfast in Brussels. Philippe Guilmin is owner and artist. Faded once sumptuous interiors are layered with second hand pieces and flea market oddities wrapped in a subtle palette of greys, greens and ochres. A romantic room in the city.
All images from Belle, Australia.

Tagged
So we've been tagged by Karen at k style to list 5 reasons why we blog. Since Jo is at work, I'll answer.
1. We missed all the interaction on the dearly departed Flickr group and thought this would be a way to get that back.
2. We both love collecting gorgeous pics and this is a good way to keep them organized.
3. We are obsessed with interior design and cool furniture. This is a great outlet for us to get that out of our systems.
4. We love the interaction with people. That's why we ask for people to send us pics/links etc. We don't want our blog to be just about stuff we want to see posted. We've been meeting so many great people and becoming good blog buddies with alot of them - so great to meet people with similar interests.
5. Gonna get mushy for a sec. I met Jo through Flickr and she is one cool chick - and since she lives on the other side of the world, this is a great way for me to get to interact with her on a regular basis and share our passion for design. She rocks, what can I say.
Almost forgot to tag someone back. How about the fabulous Pink of casapinka and Pink Mohair.
Jo here :) Thanks Kim for answering. I agree with everything you wrote. I'd just like to add that we would love everyone to feel comfortable with this blog. Feel free to comment on anything and to contribute. We don't believe in cliques. Jump on in and have some fun. I've lurked for years on other blogs and now I know what a wonderful time you can have in blogland. I blog for the joy of it. It's so wonderful to interact with people from all over the world. And now it's time for me to get mushy. Kim is amazing and has the most wicked sense of humour. She makes me chuckle every day. Our collaboration grows stronger every day. Not bad for someone I met only a couple of months ago!

Gauer & Marron Studio
Beautymist has some great photos on Flickr from Gauer & Marron Studio, an architecture and design firm with offices in New York and British Columbia. Their style is modern, neutral and simply fabulous.

Colour palette
Sydney architect Scott Weston is well known for his innovative use of colour. His renovation of a Victorian-era terrace is a sea of colour . And what colour! My favourite colour palette at the moment is red and pale blue with accents of black and white.

Antlers
The antler craze will surely be short lived - maybe some are already tired of seeing them popping up everywhere. I still love them and thought I'd post some photos of rooms that utilize antlers in a gotta-love-em way.

M. Design
M. Design offers inspiration on a budget. The look is fun, funky and achievable. Punches of colour, the off beat, more than a dash of retro and just enough west coast glam. Molly Luetkemeyer is the driving force behind this LA design firm. Her rooms have been described as "random acts of retro love". She interned with Kelly Wearstler and it shows. Check out the inspiration wall in the second photo.

Starburst mirrors

I love starburst mirrors - the way they add sparkle and a bit of glamour to a room.

Jonathan Adler
Jonathan Adler is a design god. I recently picked up his book "My Prescription for Anti-Depressive Living" and I cannot believe I did not buy it sooner. His style is so whimsical and colourful and just plain fabulous - it is exactly the style I love. This book has become my new bible. He has brilliant tips throughout the book, for example:
"Lacquer your front door orange.."
"Lemon yellow is the essence of crispness and should not be overlooked."
"Start a collection: ceramic animals, mannequin heads, other people's high school yearbooks."
"Buy rich ladies' scarves and make them into pillows."
"Put regal furniture in your bathroom. Stack your towels on a Louis chair upholstered in Pucci terrycloth, even if your bathroom is tiny."
The man is a genius. If you don't own that book, go out and buy it.

Red!
Red - brave, warm, extrovert, hearty, enveloping, dramatic, evocative of all things oriental and at times a little naughty. Are you up for it?
The following amazing picture from Metropolitan Home was just sent to me by Peggy, who thought it would be a great addition to this post. Thanks Peggy!

India Mahdavi
![]() | ![]() |
India Mahdavi is one cool chick. An architect and designer based in Paris, her work can be seen all over the world: New York, Mexico City, Hong Kong, London, Milan etc. Her style is incredible and so inspiring. And she appears to have a thing for white, which I love.

Woodson & Rummerfield
In June 2005, Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield opened Woodson & Rummerfield's House of Design. They like to call their look mod vintage or "MODAGE". A mix of exquisite furniture, art, treasured finds and a quirky finesse they epitomise Hollywood Regency and the cult of cool. Check out their site for more stunning images.....PS *terramia* has a great post on W & R as well.
